Everything is Product
A few thoughts on why everything we make is a product, and why that matters.
When people ask what I do, the honest answer depends on the day. Some days I’m designing software. Some days I’m experimenting with AI. Sometimes I’m writing fiction. Occasionally I’m standing in the kitchen trying to work out why one batch of roast potatoes is perfect and the next isn’t.
To most people those look like different hobbies. To me they’re exactly the same activity.
Every creative discipline is an iterative comparison between intent and reality. You imagine something. You make it. Reality answers back.
Then you decide whether to change yourself or the thing you’re making.
That’s product design. It’s also cooking. It’s engineering. It’s writing. It’s management.
It’s life.
This site is where I write about those conversations with reality.
Sometimes they’ll involve Ruby. Sometimes recipes. Sometimes AI.
Hopefully they’ll all be about making better things.
